Hard Drive Recovery Procedure
- step 1: Find
a suitable destination hard drive, 40 GB of greater.
- step 2: This
drive has some bad sector(s) so that you can use COPYHD.exe
from Data Recovery Inc to clone the hard drive.
- step 3: Clone
the hard drive ignoring all bad sector(s). If you should reach a bad
area (many bad sector(s)) you should skip 10,000 sectors and return
to the spot later to refine the image of the hard drive.
- step 4: Once
you have completed the cloning process, make a duplicate of the clone
for safe keeping.
- step 5: Run
Data
Recovery Software and pull as much data as possible.
- step 6:
If you'r missing certain files, you can continue with cloning the hard
drive in the areas you previously skipped due to bad sectors. Set the
Retry Option (+/- keys) to 10 and set to reverse cloning (F key will
toggle fwd/rev mode).
