Procedures
- step 1: Locate
an identical Western Digital WD1600JD-55HBC0 with DCM: DSBANTJAA
- step 2: Replace
burnt chip on the PCB or transfer the flash chip to an identical PCB
- step 3: Replace
the Head Stack assembly in a Class 100 Clean Room enviornment
- step 3: Duplicate
the Failed Western Digital drive to a suitable destination drive using
COPYHD.exe
from Data Recovery,inc.
- step 4:
If there are any bad sector(s) use data recovery software like GetDataBack
- step 5: If
you get a good mirror (less than 1,000 bad sectors) you may be able
to run the check disk utility for Windows to repair the file system
errors and recover all your files.
- step 6:
Dump all the files on a Western Digital Passport USB drive
