DELL Poweredge 2850

RAID 5 DATA RECOVERY

Failed raid controller: The failed Windows 2003 server has 6 Seagate ST3146707LC Cheeta 10K7 SCSI Hard Drives, failure of the card was progressive starting with the DELL POWEREDGE 2850 server locking up and giving the BLUE SCREEN of DEATH. Eventually the DELL server failed to recognize the RAID Array. When we picked up the Dell Poweredge 2850 server at the customer location, we brought it to our Brooklyn data recovery lab, 2776 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11235, we cloned each hard drive immediately to determine if there were any failed members (dead hard drive), then rebuilt the array manually and restored the RAID array.

If you have a failed hard drive or just bad sectors that needs repair and critical data for recovery, we can help for your hard drive crash!!

Odds of a Raid 0 versus a Raid 1 failure on a 2 hard drive Raid such as the Buffalo, IOmega or other network attached storage (NAS):

The odds of a single hard drive to fail is 10% over a period of 1 year. In a raid 0 configuration the odds of failure is 2 out of 10 or 20%. In a Raid 1 configuration, the odds of complete failure is 1 out of 100 or 1%. The RAID 0 configuration in a 2 drive array is a major mistake, always set it up in a raid 1 configuration. The extra space is not worth the failure rate increase.

18 years experience, I've seen most everything that could happen to your computer, from little accidents or minor annoying bad sector damage to major crashes needing my extreme concentration. When a disk failure occurs, usually the damage may be the sign of immanent failure and requires immediate attention. I will attempt to clone the disk before it dies completely using proprietary software I built myself. It works really well on drives with bad sectors and can save your ass.

  • My success rate with "Information Retrieval" cases has always been over 95% on all the disks I have worked on.
  • I currently have over 5000 spare drives in stock that we use for immediate access to spare parts if needed. This accelerates the repair time considerably due to the fact that in most cases I don't have to search for parts with external companies.

I charge $150 an hour for data recovery services.

    Here's the basic price structure:
    • Deleted files: $200.00 and up.
    • Bad Sectors, Format drive error message: $500.00 and up.
    • Physical damage, Drive not Ready: $1000.00 and up

Sending your drive in for Data Recovery:

  • Fill out the

Hard Drive Recovery Payment Authorization Form

    and

Hard Drive Recovery Customer Information Sheet

and include them with your disk.

  • The hard drive recovery job is usually completed within the following 1 to 4 days and your data is then ready for shipping.
  • Make sure no further damage happens to your disk drive, pack it into the original drive box when possible otherwise use enough bubble wrap that no further drive damage will occur.
  • Give as much information as to what you need to recover on your failed disk, My Documents, Email family pictures etc.
  • Get as much insurance as you feel comfortable with. The more insurance, the greater care is provided to your precious disk. If you have a box insured for Ten Thousand Dollars, you can be sure that they will practically send the CEO with your box personally to my door.
  • After you have shipped your disk, please call us or Email Us the tracking information so that we can expect your parcel and notify you if there should be any delays in shipping.
  • We offer the personal service of a "NON Public Corporation", we're not out to make our shareholders profit by any means, we're just a small company that will give you our years of experience in helping resolving failed computer issues.

The most common types of hard drive crashes usually start with bad sectors on the hard drive. This will cause devastation on all operating systems ( Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix including improperly maintained Raid systems ).

USB hard drive storage units such as Maxtor One Touch, LaCie data storage, IOMEGA  Zipdisk data storage...etc.. are a good method of backup for your data, however these USB hard drives can also crash and your data may get lost, deleted or corrupted needing hard drive data recovery. The only way to safeguard your data is to make multiple backups of your data.

You can usually tell when a hard drive failure is immanent, when your computer boots up, you'll see a message like "S.M.A.R.T. drive failure immanent, backup your drive now" or "Primary HDD failure". Usually by this time, it's too late to backup your drive, you need data recovery. The more things you try, the worst things will get if you don't understand data recovery procedures.

Typical Computer Installation Tips (standard), avoiding the need for Data Recovery Service

Using External USB drives such as any LaCie, Western Digital, Maxtor or Seagate for a permanent storage unit is a BIG Mistake
These External drives tend to get knocked over or get badly placed with little or no ventilation.
External drives such as LaCie, Western Digital passport, Maxtor one touch or Seagate free agent are excellent
for transporting data from one computer hard drive to another and storing backups when shelved.

Absolutely no disk storage devices can be trusted, my rule is to replace the disk once the warranty is over.
Failure rate for any new products is fairly high because of their quality control process I guess, but they don't care, they're just out to make a profit
They don't care about your data, they'll replace your device, that's it. Some Companies like Seagate and Western Digital will even suggest a company that will
charge you a mint to retrieve your information, that sucks.
My drives still die every once in a while, but... It just doesn't bother me, I never need recovery, it's merely a minor inconvenience.

Hope this helps.
